    What is Wing Tjun?

    Wing Chun Kung Fu is a very practical Chinese martial art that doesn’t rely on brute strength. It teaches people how to defend themselves in real life self defence situations, using a combination of structure, timing and body mechanics instead of muscular strength, allowing anybody to overcome a stronger opponent regardless of their age, size or physical ability. THEY WON’T KNOW WHAT HIT THEM!
    It’s the perfect system for people who don’t want to get in the ring but want to feel confident and safe knowing that that they can defend themselves should the need arise.

    The IWKA Kids Wing Tjun programme is a Kung Fu, Self-defence, Violence prevention and Character building program for Kids aged 4 -15 yrs. An innovative concept in Martial Arts for children, that is much more than just an extracurricular activity….

    Kung Fu is so much more then teaching you to “Kick, Block, and Punch….

    We offer a light hearted and fun way to learn effective, child appropriate self defence techniques. Developed and specifically designed to meet the needs of kids and teens in today’s society.
    The curriculum is made up of games, realistic role-play, exercises and competitions to suit children’s needs, alongside the use of self assertiveness training; your child will learn how to assert themselves without resorting to violence. All kids classes at IWKA are given by Enthusiastic and Certified Kids Instructors. The children stay motivated thanks to our exiting, challenging and enjoyable IWKA Kids System.

    Whether its playground bullies or strangers on the street, children will learn proven self-defence techniques and skills that will give them the confidence to stand up for themselves when necessary so that they can avoid conflicts, de-escalate potentially dangerous situations, and most importantly stay safe. In addition, the IWKA Kids programme will help give your child the best start in life and provide them with that extra edge to help them become pleasant and secure adults.

    TEENS WING TJUN 12-15 Yrs

    Our unique teens self-defence programme follows the Adults Wing Tjun curriculum but is taught with today’s teenager in mind. The modern teenager is always on the go, in a world full of challenges and they need to know how to protect themselves and stay safe. Learning in a relaxed and fun environment, with teens their own age, it doesn’t take long for our students to start learning the skills necessary to help them avoid conflict, deescalate potentially dangerous situations and stay safe.

    What your teenagers will learn:

    How to deal with Bullying: (verbal, physical and Cyber Bullying)
    Stranger Danger: self-protection game plans for children to identify sinister and/or inappropriate behavior from an adult.
    Anti-Abduction Drills: skills and tactic’s to escape from a predator.

    How to prevent getting picked on by their peers.
    How to develop a self protection game-plan.
    Understanding a predators rituals.
    Knowing when to say NO.
    Understanding fear & intuition.
    How to resist peer pressure & make positive choices.

    How to defend against bullies.
    How to defend from the ground or prone positions.
    Defence against chokes, head locks, take downs, bear hugs, etc.
    How to defend against larger and multiple attackers.
    How to defend against adult attackers.

    • Just like to say I have enrolled for these classes and they are well structured and delivered in a friendly and safe atmosphere….. Since joining I am a lot fitter…. 3 evenings a week means the training is seamless and there is not a big gap between sessions where you forget what you did the previous week …. Highly recommended – give it a go!!!

    • Just wanted to say thanks for last night – it was a great class again and thanks for letting me bring Frank…..
      A bit of feedback from him for you. He has been doing various martial arts for over 40 years and thinks the set up you have here is marvelous. He really liked the school and the way its setup and thought you as a teacher was excellent. He said its the first time he has trained with a teacher that has actually explained the moves and the reason behind them. He thought it was a really friendly class with a good atmosphere and if he lived over here he would be there training with us.
      When he first started out, it was when the first Japanese came over teaching and said they were really strict and you could not ask them questions. You spent hour after hour doing the same thing……Sounds like you spoil us, see you on Wednesday.

    • As a woman i feel its important to learn self defence, that is why i chose to take up Wing Tjun as it is designed so that even if you are not strong or tall you can still defend yourself by using the other persons force against them. Since starting Wing Tjun lessons i have gained so much confidence and i look forward to my lessons each week.
      The instructor at the school is very patient and encouraging and pays particular attention to detail and proper form. For anyone out there looking to gain confidence, it is an excellent martial art to learn.

    • As a long standing member of the IWKA CYPRUS i have seen the school go from strength to strength. The membership continues to grow month on month and there is quite a buzz about the place. The classes are well structured and the teacher is a friendly and easy going guy who takes time to fully explain each move and the reason behind it. There is a nice balance between the cardio exercise in the initial circuit training and the actual lessons in Wing Tjun, which is a martial art suited to both sexes and all ages – come along you wont be disappointed.

    • I initially joined the school to accompany my husband, i thought i would hate it but i was pleasantly surprised, the first week was hard but for some reason i was addicted. I started to feel strong. If someone comes up behind me i can defend myself, you feel good about yourself, you learn patience and you also relieve stress from work.

I have been wanting to learn a real practical self defence for some time now, but never truly finding the right one for me, but IWKA CYPRUS Wing Tjun has been perfect! I would recommend this martial art for any individual ready to make a positive change in life and improve their confidence, health and actual safety at any age, whether male or female!

    • I trained Boxing and Aikido before. But I like Wing Tjun because it is simple and effective. You can reach quite good level and be able to use it in real situations in short time of learning it. Our instructor Serif devotes much time to look after each student to get better and faster results.

    • My Wife and i chose Wing Tjun for our kids over the sports because we wanted to give them a real life skill. Especially having 2 little girls we want them to be able to defend themselves. Football or Tennis aren’t going to help them if someone tries to snatch them – Wing Tjun will!!!
